Firmsconsulting is a private partnership training management consultants and teaching management consulting problem solving skills. We have researched and produced 6 books, 300 videos, 300 podcasts, consulting rankings and training material from our design studio in downtown Toronto.
Firmsconsulting works with leading students, consultants and executives to prepare the former for consulting case interviews, and teach the latter the skills of a management consultant. We are retained by McKinsey, Bain and Boston Consulting Group employees, not the firms themselves, for private mentoring.
Our strong values, scale, scope, and knowledge, having spent our entire careers in management consulting, allow us to prepare clients in a manner no one else can. We have gained extensive functional knowledge and industry expertise while serving clients across all major cities.

Firmsconsulting, founded in 2008 by an ex-management consulting partner and associate, and privately funded, maintains the Capability Center, a curated forum of management consultants, industry executives and aspiring consultants committed to improving the state and values of the profession through the sharing of ideas, concepts and information to shape global, regional and industry agendas. Managed as a not-for-profit foundation since 2011, from Toronto, Canada, the center is tied to no political, consulting, commercial or national interests.
As at 07 January 2012, the Capability Center contained approximately 250,000 toolkits, templates and methodologies, 150 videos on management consulting concepts, 77 podcasts on lifestyle and career management, sector-specific training material, a dedicated research studio staffed by ex-consulting associates and a moderated Q&A forum with over 2,000 researched responses.

Firmsconsulting by the numbers
We are a management consulting training firm defined by our strong value system of putting the needs of our clients first. We have placed 108 candidates (as at 26 December 2011) in McKinsey, Bain, BCG and Roland Berger. More if our successful placements in Deloitte S&O, AT Kearney, Booz, OW, Monitor, Accenture, LEK etc are included. We only accept 10% of candidates who apply to join our program, all prospective candidates go through a rigorous screening process to assess their fit to our program and management consulting, and have a 78% success rate in placing these accepted candidates. Candidates who join our program receive bespoke training, based on a unique system of solving cases from first principles, from at least a former consulting principal, free access to our online library of approximately 150 videos of solved cases, and numerous podcasts and guides.
- We offer the internet’s largest curated community for consultants to upload and share consulting material, discuss issues and support each other. It now hosts 260,000 documents. To ensure no copyrighted material is uploading, we only offer access by invite. The site hosts webinars with ex-consultants and offers detailed training videos for consultants.
- Our blog contains over 600 articles on management consulting, including a selection of 240 highly popular pieces.
- Across both sites, we host over 300 podcasts and 300 videos on management consulting actual cases, case interview solutions and career advice
- We maintain the largest video library of case solutions – 150 videos
- We produce and sell 6 books about the management consulting industry. Each book teaches the reader to understand, follow and replicate a consulting engagement. Each books is carefully researched to mirror a real engagement and is supported by excel models, power point reports, podcast guides and video tutorials.
- We offer a store for members to sell toolkits and manuals. The story hosts 217 (and counting) high-quality management consulting documents.
- The site offers a fully functional 24-hour back-office where users can use our team of ex-consultants to produce research reports, complete presentations and conduct research.
- We maintain the world’s only independent, unbiased and detailed management consulting ranking.
