Mining & Resources, Set in the Brazilian interior, this book follows an engagement team as they assist Goldy, a large Brazilian company, in diagnosing and fixing deep and persistent organisational issues.  This book will follow an engagement team over an 8 week assignment and explain how they successfully navigate a challenging client environment, develop hypotheses, build the analyses and provide the final recommendations. It is written so the reader may understand, follow and replicate the process. The book is 252 pages in length and written by former management consulting partners and case leaders. This is the only consulting guide taking readers on a day-by-day and step-by-step journey through a complete engagement. MBA students contemplating a career in management consulting will find this book to be the perfect introduction. Consultants can learn the techniques of the leading management consulting firms

Financial Services Sector (Multimedia), Imagine a consulting engagement in one of the world’s most dynamic emerging markets: a literal gateway to an unbanked world. A Fortune 500 bank believes it has found a winning strategy to target consumers who subsist on less than $5 a day. The client is hoping they can capture up to 30% of this market, and push their revenue growth above the magical 10% threshold. In this market where 40% default rates are the norm, where literacy levels are well below 10% and where no formal banking channels exist, the bank is hoping, praying really, that the risk mitigation best-practices sourced from a joint-venture with Banco Azteca of Mexico will solve all their problems. The bank feels more than a little optimistic due to the significant profits of a 5-year pilot, begun in 2006, where they partnered with South Africa’s state-owned banks. The board has giddily, and greedily, given the go-ahead to end the partnership with the state bank and commit hundreds of millions of dollars of shareholder capital to building hundreds of retail branches across the rural interior. On the eve of the rollout, concerns about communicating the strategy to certain vocal shareholders have led to the appointment of a team of management consultants to assess the strategy.

The 305 page book is supported by excel, word, power point, video, audio files, and access to the discussion forum. + 100 supporting documents.

Electricity Sector (Multimedia), Follow Mexico’s integrated (Generation, Transmission and Distribution) $6B revenue electricity utility monopoly as it prepares to restructure itself and begin a construction program to supply power to a burgeoning industrial and consumer base. The book follows a consulting team as they develop the strategy to refocus the utility and prepare to build new stations. The 280 page books is supported by excel, word, power point, video, audio files, and access to the discussion forum. + 100 supporting documents.

Public Sector (Multimedia), Based in Sweden, this book addresses the challenges faced by state institutions as they struggle to meet tough austerity measures. The Swedish Postal Service, the fictitious client, has traditionally posted losses off $2B of revenue but was bailed out by state subsidies. Due to the recession, those subsidies have been removed and the SPS has been tasked with developing a new strategy to turn itself around. Management consultants have been appointed to conduct the analyses. This book uses data from analyzing and bench-marking both Singaporean and Swedish public sector agencies, which is an ongoing research project we are running. The 269 page book is supported by excel, word, power point, video, audio files, and access to the discussion forum. + 80 supporting documents.

Agriculture Sector (Multimedia), Set in Canada, this book outlines a detailed approach to develop a new strategy for a $13B revenue Agribusiness conglomerate which farms, processes and sells its produce through its own retail network. This book is particularly focused on developing a marketing and sales strategy for the retail outlets. The 296 page book is supported by excel, word, power point, video, audio files, and access to the discussion forum. + 80 supporting document.

“Partnership” is the descriptive memoir of an ex-BBM partner as he recounts his reasons for entering BBM and progressing through the ranks to a coveted partnership. This book is unusual in that the author recounts engagements in significant detail, while explaining his learning’s and development areas in those engagements. Mostly set in the aviation and transport sector, the book also provides extensive background information on the turnaround of state-owned air carriers in developing economies. The 287 page book is supported by exhibits and tools to help candidates map their own career development.
